Wicker Park in Chicago is located just West of downtown’s Loop, and neighbors Bucktown to the South. The neighborhood is bordered by North Avenue to the North, Ashland to the East, Division to the South and Western to the West. Known for its nightlife, many restaurants, music venues and now for fashion; it’s quickly become the neighborhood of choice for the younger, recently out of college set.
Architecturally known for its edgy, industrial style loft spaces, tattoo parlors and coffee shops this neighborhood has for a long time attracted working artists of all genres. It hosts (twice a year) the popular “Round the Coyote Festival”, attracting artists from not only Wicker Park but all over the Chicago area, who display their works for sale. Like Bucktown to the North, it too provides easy access to buses and rapid transit, making it quick and easy to commute downtown.
It’s a great neighborhood to explore and to live. The park, its namesake, is located in the center of the neighborhood and is a great place to hang, take kids to play or just observe its beautiful landscaping and fountain, not to mention its fabulous farmers market hosted on Saturday mornings throughout the summer.
